Who are you (where you’re from, how long you’ve been in Atlanta, hobbies and interests, etc.)?

I am from NC and lived in Atlanta from 2002 -2013. I was transfer to Florida and then Chicago and finally laid off this year. I want to come back to Atlanta and put roots down and be closer to my friends. I will also be moving my mother closer to me and being back in Atlanta would make that a much easier move for her. I love to cook and I am a huge food and wine person. I want to get back involved with the local LGBT community.

What’s your experience with Rainbros?

I have not had much involvement with the group other then keeping up with post. Mr. Yancey got me involved via social media and I have been very impressed with the group and would like to be a part of it once I return to Atlanta.

What kind of work are you looking for and why?

I have worked in real estate operations for the last 13 years with the same company. I enjoy real estate would like to stay in that field, however, I would be open to other opportunities, I have a long history of coaching employees with proven results.

What’s something you’re reading or learning right now that excites you?

I just started how to "You are a bad ass". Just started it last night, but so far so good. I have been doing someconstituting work for some real estate agents and its been very eye opening to see it from  their point of view vs the corporate operations side.

Who are you (where you’re from, how long you’ve been in Atlanta, hobbies and interests, etc.)?

I’m originally from Gainesville, GA, but moved here a little over a year ago after finishing school out of state—I went to Rhode Island School of Design my freshman year and then transferred to Colorado College where I created my own major in Environmental Philosophy and Practice. As you might guess from that, I like arts and crafts and playing outside.

What’s your experience with Rainbros?

I got involved with Rainbros a few months after I moved here. I was initially set up with a coach to help me get the lay of the land and have since worked with other coaches, gone on a number of Walk n Talks, and participated in many of the other events.

What kind of work are you looking for and why?

I’ve been doing work in outreach and marketing for the past year or so and want to do more with metrics and testing than I’ve been able to. I’ve looked at jobs doing marketing, GIS, UX/UI design, software engineering, and internships with intellectual property law groups. I’m really wanting to find a way to get my foot in the door and dig into something in the maths and sciences since that's what I enjoyed most in school.

What’s something you’re reading or learning right now that excites you?

I just started a part-time job as a tutor for the SAT, ACT, and class subjects and am really looking forward to brushing up on some of that material and working with and encouraging students. I’m also really glad that it’s flexible enough where I can easily take on a full-time job and continue tutoring or take a break and return to it!

Who are you (where you’re from, how long you’ve been in Atlanta, hobbies and interests, etc.)?

Originally from a small town in Arkansas, I moved to Atlanta in 2009 for graduate school.  After graduating I worked in Texas for a brief time before finding myself back in the city I have come to call home. Meaningful conversation with interesting persons is most certainly my favorite way to pass the time.  I am finding myself more and more interested in the state of our political discourse and often end up as that one person at a gathering who without fail ends up in a discussion about the state of our international reputation or latest gaffe out of one party or the other.  I also do not function unless I have been to the gym at least four days of the week.

What’s your experience with Rainbros?

I have met with several coaches over the past year.  I have been encouraged, helped and challenged in my journey to better myself and move into a position that is the right fit for me.  When my work schedule allows it I have attended quarterly gatherings, outings and the weekly walk + talk in Piedmont Park!

What kind of work are you looking for and why?

I am looking for a fresh start.  Though I have done some long term volunteer work and spent time as a hospital chaplain, my most recent experience is in retail management and I feel underutilized and uninspired.  I am hoping to find the right position where my passion for justice and people and my variety of experiences are an asset to my role.

What’s something you’re reading or learning right now that excites you?

I have been revisiting a book given to me years ago, Comfortable With Uncertainty by Pema Chödrön, a Buddhist nun.  It is a book of short reflections that really encourage me to stay vigilant in my efforts to make a better life for myself!
